Licensees can make a tasty profit by serving up simple, filling bar snacks during events such as pub quizzes, film nights and live musicBig Al's events.

The Big Al’s range of flame cooked burgers, chicken steaks, BBQ pork ribsteak and mesquite chicken wings presents the perfect solution for busy times such as special events.

“Stocking products which can be cooked quickly without compromising on quality is essential for special events like pub quizzes,” says UK Foodservice Manager Ed Robinson. “Big Al’s burgers, for example, can be microwaved from frozen in under two minutes to provide a delicious, filling meal or snack for customers which can be served quickly between rounds of the quiz, or before or after live entertainment.”

The burgers are pre-cooked over an open flame, resulting in great taste and a consistently high quality end product.

“They are frozen, which reduces waste, and they are pre-cooked for a worry-free, consistent result every time,” adds Robinson. “They require no special storage or preparation equipment – they can be heated quickly and easily in a fryer, oven, griddle, BBQ or microwave.

“This means outlets can have them in stock for times when extra food sales are required, and quickly produce a delicious meal or snack to satisfy hungry customers.”

Chicken wings present another great option for special events. Big Al’s’ mesquite chicken wings are endlessly popular with pub and bar customers, thanks to their mesquite glaze which gives a sweet and smoky flavour.

Big Al’s chicken wings are frozen, which reduces waste, and as they are pre-cooked any food safety worries are removed. The range only requires a freezer and a microwave or combi oven to store and prepare and can be cooked from frozen to order in just a few minutes, making them ideal for outlets with limited time, staff and equipment.

“A bucket, basket or platter of chicken wings presents the ideal sharing snack for customers to enjoy during a quiz or other entertainment,” says Ed. “They can be quickly prepared to order, can be cooked in high volumes where required, and generate very little washing up which is ideal for times of high footfall.”
