Big Al’s is excited to announce the launch of its latest product, the Fully Cooked Big Al’s Sausage Patties. The newest innovation to join the brand’s portfolio of high-quality products, the Sausage Patty has been created to assist operators in tapping into the ever-growing breakfast and on-the-go markets and offer consumers a quick and convenient breakfast option that can be eaten on the move.

The Big Al’s Fully Cooked Sausage Patty is made from fully cooked pork, flame-grilled for great taste and seasoned with sage, nutmeg, and pepper for a delicious, authentic flavour. Ready to serve from frozen in under a minute, the Sausage Patties will allow Big Al’s customers to offer a unique and tasty, trend-led breakfast proposition.

Darragh Gilhawley, Head of Business Development UK at Big Al’s comments; “We are thrilled to introduce Big Al’s Fully Cooked Sausage Patties. An exciting venture for the brand, the Sausage Patty is the perfect product for busy, on-the-go consumers. With the breakfast channel expected to grow by +5.7% in 2018 and a further +4.8% in 2019[1], this introduction to the market allows operators to stay on top of the current trends and entice more and more consumers to eat breakfast out of home.”

The breakfast and brunch occasion has skyrocketed in recent years and this trend is not expected to slow down, with the foodservice market having seen a 7% increase in consumers eating out during breakfast[2]. Breakfast and brunch is no longer limited to the morning, but has expanded across the entire day, with outlets now incorporating all-day breakfast dishes on their menus to satisfy ‘Breakfastarians’ – those who are looking for breakfast dishes throughout the day. Breakfast represents more than one-eighth of the 11.36bn OOH visits by the end of 2017[3] and operators who meet consumer desire for breakfast and brunch items all day are also tapping into the extra footfall opportunity presented and are likely to see sales rise. Additionally, with insight showing the average consumer spend at breakfast has increased by 31% since 2015[4], the introduction of the Fully Cooked Sausage Patty allows operators to build on the freedom eating trend, by offering an on-the-go solution that fits in with their customer’s busy routines.

Jessie McCarthy, Assistant Brand Manager explains; “We have sampled the Sausage Patties in the market for the past few months and it has been received very well. Operators can’t wait to get their hands on this new innovative breakfast product, and have commended the quality, versatility and great taste of the patty. Precooked, frozen and ready to serve in 35 seconds, the Sausage Patty is already in high demand.“

As with all Big Al’s products, the Fully Cooked Sausage Patty is extremely versatile and lends itself to various different builds – from a classic build to an indulgent brunch offering. It pairs perfectly with Framptons 50g Muffin Omelette from Central Foods, as well as their KaterBake English Breakfast Muffin. Made with British Lion quality eggs, the Framptons Muffin Omelettes are ready-cooked, round-shaped and designed to perfectly fit a standard 4” bun or muffin. The KaterBake English Breakfast Muffin is a traditional, light and fluffy white bread muffin, dusted with a mix of polenta and rice flour with the outer edge lightly ‘forked’ to give a more rustic look. Serve a Big Al’s Sausage Patty with a slice of cheese, Framptons Muffin Omelette and drop of ketchup encased in a KaterBake English Breakfast Muffin, or for a more indulgent offering, offer a Big Al’s Sausage Patty on a bed of spinach, topped with a slice of cheese, poached egg and drizzle of hollandaise sauce, all in a toasted brioche bun.

The Fully Cooked Sausage Patties will be available from national distributors in March 2018.
